Twelve longtime Nashville and local songwriters will perform the award-winning tunes they’ve written for the headliners the weekend of April 28-30 at three downtown Helen venues, a rare opportunity to see those who write a sizeable portion of Music City’s greatest hits. The music plays continuously with twelve performers at three venues for three days. Friday, April 28, from noon – 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 29, from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, April 30, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (last times noted are when last performers go onstage)

Music has always thrived in Appalachia, and the city of Helen enthusiastically showcases regional-gone-national talent each year in downtown Helen at Hofbrauhaus, Cowboys & Angels and the Marketplatz Bandshell. Following are just a few of the Nashville songwriters who will be playing, with their famous performers in parenthesis: Earl Bud Lee (Blake Shelton, George Straight, Alison Kraus, Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places”); Greg Crowe (Montgomery Gentry, Sammy Kershaw, Lonestar); Dave Gibson (Tim McGraw, Confederate Railroad); Becky Hobbs (George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Alabama); Wil Nance (Brad Paisley, John Michael Montgomery) and many more. It’s a weekend of entertainment and do-it-yourself itineraries for waterfalls, wineries or in-town fun, with inspiration found on the www.HelenGa.org website.
