The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) reports that construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require temporary overnight lane closures on I-64/I-75 thru Wednesday, October 30. The closures will allow contractors to pave the interstate.

Contractors have close one lane of I-64/I-75 in each direction between mile marker 113 and mile marker 115 (Paris Pike and Newtown Pike exits). As work progresses, contractors will change which lane is closed. Double lane closures, when necessary, will begin after 8:30 p.m.  Work will continue throughout the week beginning at 7:00 p.m. each evening. All lanes will reopen by 6:00 a.m. each morning.

The work is part of the I-75 widening project. It is the first of two projects to widen I-64/I-75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
