The Florida Department of Transportation announces that construction is underway on the $64 million project to build a new interchange at I-75 and Overpass Road. The project is a partnership between the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners and the Florida Department of Transportation.

The interchange will be added at Overpass Road, located between State Roads 52 and 54. Currently there is an approximately six-mile stretch of Interstate without an exit or entrance to I-75 between the two roads. The new interchange would cut that in half.

Initial construction will focus on local roads in the southwest project area, where a new neighborhood access road will be constructed at Old Pasco Road to replace the current Blair Drive connection to Overpass Road.
