Full Closures, Detours on Several I-75 Construction Projects in Ohio

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports the following I-75 traffic advisories through the week ending August 19, 2023. All work will be contingent upon the weather.

I-75/Mill Creek Expressway Major Rehabilitation  – Major rehabilitation project at the I-74/75 interchange to widen and resurface I-75 between Paddock Road and the Western Hills Viaduct and reconfigure the interchange. Work also includes interchange improvements at Hopple Street, I-74, Mitchell Avenue, Norwood Lateral and Paddock Road. Various lane and shoulder restrictions may be in effect on the mainline and at affected ramps within the project zone during evening and overnight hours, including the following:

Friday, August 11:

  • Full closure of Colerain Avenue, between Elmore Street and Spring Grove Avenue, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12. During closure, traffic will be detoured via Elmore Street and the William P. Dooley Bypass.
  • Full closure of Spring Grove Avenue, between Elmore Street and Mill Creek Road, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Saturday. Traffic will be detoured via the William P. Dooley Bypass, Old Ludlow Avenue or Elmore Street, Ludlow Avenue, Central Parkway and Monmouth Avenue.

I-75 Thru the Valley Major Rehabilitation – Between Glendale-Milford Road and the Kemper Road overpass. Restrictions will also be in effect on the Sharon Road overpass for bridge work, and various lane and shoulder restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as intermittent restrictions at the ramps.

I-75 Resurfacing – On I-75 North and South, between the Brent Spence Bridge and Harrison Avenue. Crews will be paving the final surface course and applying permanent pavement markings on the mainline, as well as along the various ramps within the project limits. Intermittent lane restrictions may be in place during the evening and overnight hours, including the following:

Sunday-Friday, August 13-18:

  • Single-lane restrictions on I-75 North and South beginning at 8:00 p.m., followed by double-lane closures at 9:00 p.m. each night. All restrictions will be lifted by 6 a.m. the following day. 

I-75 Slide Repair – Along I-75 South, just south of the Clifton Avenue overpass. Traffic on the ramp from Mitchell Avenue to I-75 South is shifted to the east and the right lane of I-75 South is closed to just south of the Clifton Avenue overpass for crews to install a drilled shaft wall along the west side of the interstate. The restrictions will remain in place through late September. 

I-75 Resurfacing – On I-75 North and South, between Kemper Road and the Butler County line. Intermittent lane restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as along the various ramps within the project limits, including the following:

Friday, August 11:

  • Full closure of the ramp from I-275 East to I-75 North between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the following day. Motorists may detour via Mosteller Road and I-275 West to I-75 North.
  • Full closure of the ramp from I-275 West to I-75 South between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the following day. Motorists may detour via S.R. 747/Princeton-Glendale Road and I-275 East to I-75 South.
