The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announced all scheduled and ongoing construction-related lane closures in metro Atlanta and across the state would be suspended for the long Labor Day weekend. The restrictions begin at noon, Friday, August 31, and extend to 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4.

Georgia DOT reminds travelers heavy holiday traffic is expected throughout the state and crews may be working in close proximity to highways. Safety concerns may require some long-term lane closures remain in place and incident management or emergency maintenance-related lane closures could become necessary at any time. Please be very careful and do not drive distracted or while impaired.
