The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that the reconstruction of I-75 between Needmore Road and Leo Street in Dayton has begun operations to prepare for the next phase of construction.

As part of this anticipated shift, the contractor will conduct nightly lane closures on the southbound side of I-75 to begin moving barrier walls. The expected traffic shift will move the two remaining southbound lanes to the interior portion of the interstate. This allows the contractor to begin work on the southbound exterior lanes.

The traffic shift is scheduled to take place on the night of Saturday, August 24. During this time, southbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane by use of the contraflow lane. Also, the following ramps will be inaccessible for entering or exiting I-75 Southbound: Needmore Road, Wagner-Ford Road, Stanley Road, State Route 4, and State Route 48. The Wagner-Ford entrance and exit ramps will be closed for approximately 60 days at this time.  After 60 days, the exit ramp will reopen, while the entrance ramp will remain closed until spring 2025.

Northbound traffic will remain in its current configuration. The contraflow setup will continue to accommodate southbound traffic on the northbound side.

This new traffic flow will be maintained through late spring 2025.

If your destination is not in the Dayton area, we encourage drivers to utilize the preferred alternative of I-70 to I-675.

Construction can be disruptive. Drivers should be extra attentive when traveling through work zones by slowing down and putting down the distractions. We will continue to provide updates as this project progresses.
