I-75 north will be subject to right lane closures later this week between Needmore Road and Leo Street will be subject to traffic pattern changes due to the expected winter weather.
Due to the significant amount of precipitation that has been predicted – higher than what have been experienced so far this season – the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has decided to temporarily close the contraflow lane carrying southbound traffic, effective late morning to early afternoon Sunday, January 5 and will remain closed for the duration of the storm. Clearing snow and ice in a contraflow lane is challenging regardless of the amount of precipitation, but given the potential for a significant accumulation, ODOT has determined the closure necessary to ensure the safety of both the traveling public and their crews.
Drivers are asked to use winter driving habits and stay extra attentive when traveling work zones by slowing down and putting down the distractions. When you see plow trucks or snow removal equipment, please make to give crews plenty of room as they work to make the roads passible.
ODOT will continue to monitor the weather closely and will reopen the lane as soon as it is clear and safe for travel.
