I-75 Travel Restrictions, Detours on Several Projects throughout Ohio

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction and maintenance operations throughout the state, thru Saturday, September 23, 2023 and beyond. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

I-75 Projects in Butler County

I-75/Crescentville Road Bridge Maintenance – At overpass on Crescentville Road. Lane closures may be in effect on I-75 South between the Union Centre Boulevard to I-275 interchanges, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. A minimum of one lane will be maintained in either direction at all times.

I-75 Projects in Hamilton County

I-75/Mill Creek Expressway Major Rehabilitation  – Major rehabilitation project at the I-74/75 interchange to widen and resurface I-75 between Paddock Road and the Western Hills Viaduct and reconfigure the interchange. Work also includes interchange improvements at Hopple Street, I-74, Mitchell Avenue, Norwood Lateral and Paddock Road. Various lane and shoulder restrictions may be in effect on the mainline and at affected ramps within the project zone during evening and overnight hours.

I-75 Thru the Valley Major Rehabilitation – Between Glendale-Milford Road and the Kemper Road overpass. Restrictions will also be in effect on the Sharon Road overpass for bridge work, and various lane and shoulder restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as intermittent restrictions at the ramps.

I-75 Lighting Installation – On I-75 North between the Western Hills Viaduct and the Norwood Lateral. Single (left) lane closure will be in effect Wednesday and Thursday, September 20 and 21, each night from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following day for the installation of LED lighting.  

I-75 Resurfacing – On I-75 North and South, between Kemper Road and the Butler County line. Intermittent lane restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as along the various ramps within the project limits.

I-75 Projects in Miami County

Interstate 75 Pavement Repairs – Expect nightly lane closures on I-75 in each direction between the rest area near Piqua and County Road 25-A from Monday, May 1 to Saturday, September 30.  Crews will be repairing the pavement from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. nightly.

Interstate 75 Lane Closures – Expect intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between Monroe-Concord Road to the Miami/Montgomery County line from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. starting Monday, September 25 to Friday, October 6. Crews will be sweeping the center barrier wall and cleaning drains. 

I-75 Projects in Montgomery County

Interstate 75 Reconstruction in Moraine(S.R. 725/U.S. 35) â€“ I-75 will be reconstructed between S.R. 725 and U.S. 35. I-75 will experience major reconstruction including a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures, and lane restrictions in each direction. This project includes new pavement, storm sewers, lighting, and minor bridge repairs. Estimated completion: Summer 2025.

Dixie Road Ramp Closure – The Ramp from Dixie Road to I-75 North will be closed for 40 days starting Wednesday, August 30. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area. Detour:  Dixie Road to SR 741 to I-75  
Interstate 75 Lane Shift – Expect two 11′ lanes on I-75 North to shift to the left (interior lanes) starting Friday, June 30 to October 2023. The contraflow lane will remain in place. This new traffic pattern will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction.

Dryden Road Ramp Closure – The Ramp from Dryden Road to I-75 North will be closed from Monday, April 10 through July 2025. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area. Detour:  Dryden Rd. to Northlawn Ave. to Springboro Pike (S.R. 741) to I-75 North

Dryden Road Ramp Closure – The Ramp from I-75 South to Dryden Road will be closed from Monday, May 22 through July 2025. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area. Detour:  I-75 South to E. Dixie Dr. to Dryden Rd

Interstate 75 Lane Closures – Expect intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between U.S. 35 and Miamisburg-Centerville Road (SR 725) from Monday, April 24 to Tuesday, October 31. Lane closures will be nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Crews will be completing pavement repairs. 

Interstate 75 Rehabilitation in Dayton (S.R. 4/ Needmore Rd.) – I-75 will be reconstructed between S.R. 4 and Needmore Road.  I-75 will experience major reconstruction including a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures, and lane restrictions in each direction. This project includes rehabilitation and new pavement. Estimated completion: Summer 2026.

Interstate 75 Lane Shift – Expect three 11′ lanes on I-75 in each direction to shift to the right starting Tuesday, May 23 to November of 2023. Crews will be completing work on the interior lanes on both sides of the median. This new traffic pattern will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction.

Interstate 75 Lane Closures – Expect multiple lane closures on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and SR 4 from Monday, April 17 to December 2023. Lane closures will be nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. During this time crews will be working on pavement repairs and installing temporary lights. 

I-75 Projects in Warren County

I-75/S.R. 73 Intersection Improvement – Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, the ramp from southbound I-75 to S.R. 73 will be closed until 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 11. Traffic will be detoured via I-75 South and S.R. 123. Then, on Friday, September 15, the ramp will be closed from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 18. Traffic will use the same detour.
