Lane Closures, Detours for I-75 Work in Tampa Bay Area this week

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction in the Tampa Bay area through April 3, 2021.

Hillsborough County

  • I-75 northbound rest area reconstruction at mile marker 238
    • Rest area is closed until spring of 2021
  • I-75 repaving from Big Bend Road (CR 672) to Progress Boulevard
    • Lane closures: through Saturday, April 3 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Pasco County

  • I-75 at SR 56 (Diverging Diamond Interchange project)
    • Lane closures: through Friday, April 2 from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.           

Additionally, the following traffic impacts are reported:

  • Wesley Chapel, FL — The southbound I-75 Exit 275 ramp to SR 56 may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. through Friday nights (March thru April 2), weather permitting.
    • Detour Route to SR 56: Use Exit 279 to SR 54/CR 54. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left and go east on SR 54. Turn right onto SR 581 (Bruce B. Downs Boulevard) and go south to SR 56.
  • I-75 at SR 56
    • Lane closures: through Friday, April 2 from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m
  • Wesley Chapel, FL — The SR 56 entrance ramp onto northbound I-75 may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. through Friday nights (April 2), weather permitting. Drivers will be detoured to enter from Wesley Chapel Boulevard.
  • Here are the detour routes:
    • Eastbound SR 56 onto northbound I-75: Continue east past the closed ramp to SR 581 / Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Turn left and go north on SR 581. At SR 54 / Wesley Chapel Boulevard, turn left and go west to the entrance ramp onto northbound I-75.
    • Westbound SR 56 onto northbound I-75: Continue west past the closed ramp to CR 54 / Wesley Chapel Boulevard. Turn right and go northeast on CR 54. After passing under I-75, turn left onto the entrance ramp to northbound I-75.
