Lane Closures, Stopped Traffic, Delays for I-75 Construction in Tennessee This Week

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction activities this week.

  • CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North near Mile Marker 151: Motorists should be alert for a lane closure in this area around the clock as crews perform slide repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays, be alert for slowed or stopped traffic, and use extreme caution through this area
  • CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 135 and 142: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this project. Motorists should be alert for slowed or stopped traffic, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.
  • KNOX COUNTY, I-75 North and South between I-640 and Emory Road (Exit 112): Motorists traveling on I-75 North in Knoxville should be alert for lane closures that will have a significant impact on travel this weekend. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019, I-75 North will be reduced to two narrowed lanes across the bridge over Merchants Drive (Exit 108) as crews perform the second phase bridge repairs. Motorists should also be alert for lane closures on Merchants Drive underneath I-75 while these repairs are taking place. These lane closures will be in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019. Crews will be working 24/7 to complete the first phase of scheduled repairs. Motorists should expect potential long delays, adjust travel times, and seek alternate routes. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and use extreme caution through this area.
