Lane, Ramp Closures, Detours for I-75 Projects in Ohio This Week and Beyond

The Ohio Department of Transportation reports the following traffic advisories including restrictions on the state highway system in Hamilton, Butler and Montgomery Counties through Fall 2022. All work will be contingent upon the weather.

Hamilton County

  • I-75/Mill Creek Expressway Major Rehabilitation  – Major rehabilitation project at the I-74/75 interchange to widen and resurface I-75 between Paddock Road and the Western Hills Viaduct and reconfigure the interchange. Work also includes interchange improvements at Hopple Street, I-74, Mitchell Avenue, Norwood Lateral and Paddock Road. Various lane closures and restrictions will be in effect as needed.
  • I-75 Thru the Valley Major Rehabilitation – Between Glendale-Milford Road and the Kemper Road overpass. Various lane and shoulder restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as intermittent restrictions at the ramps at the Sharon Road interchange.
  • I-75 Resurfacing – On I-75 North and South, between the Brent Spence Bridge and Harrison Avenue. Intermittent lane restrictions and ramp closures will be in effect during hours of operation, including the following:
    • Single-lane closure on I-75 North beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a double-lane closure at 9 p.m., with all restrictions lifted by 6 a.m. the following day.
    • I-75 Bridge (Ramp) Repair – At the ramp from I-75 North to I-275 West, which carries traffic over I-75. Intermittent lane restrictions and ramp closures will be in effect during evening and overnight hours. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall of 2022.

Butler County

  • I-75 Bridge Maintenance – On the West Chester Road overpass, between Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Union Centre Boulevard. Intermittent lane restrictions may be in effect on I-75 North and South, nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day, as needed for work on the bridge. All work is scheduled to be completed by late fall of 2022.

Montgomery County

  • Interstate 75 Bridge Repairs –  I-75 Bridges over Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Carillon Boulevard near the Great Miami River in Dayton are scheduled for repairs. I-75 will experience a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures and lane restrictions in each direction. Estimated completion: Fall 2022.

CONTINUING IMPACTS:

  • Interstate 75 Bridge Repairs – Expect a traffic pattern shift on I-75 northbound between Albany Street and State Route 741 (Springboro Pike) until Friday, September 30. The far-left 11′ lane will shift onto I-75 southbound from S.R. 741 (Springboro Pike) in Moraine then shift back at Stewart Street. There will be two 10′ side-by-side thru-lanes on I-75 northbound. *Drivers will need to stay in the two right lanes of I-75 northbound to access the Edwin C. Moses Blvd. exit and the U.S. 35 exits. *
  • Interstate 75 Bridge Repairs – Expect three 11′ lanes on I-75 southbound to shift to the right onto the newly constructed pavement until Friday, September 30.
  • Interstate 75 Bridge Repairs – I-75 southbound and northbound will experience nightly lane width restrictions and multiple lane closures, between Albany Street and S.R. 741, through Friday, September 30.
  • Interstate 75 Ramp Closure – Expect nightly double lane and ramp closures on I-75 northbound exit ramp to Edwin C. Moses Boulevard on Friday, June 5 at 10 p.m. through Friday, September 30 at 5 a.m. Crews will be performing a bridge demolition.
    • Detour: I-75 NB to Second St. (Exit 53) to I-75 SB to Edwin C. Moses Blvd.
  • State Route 741 Ramp Closure – Expect nightly ramp closures on S.R. 741 entrance ramp to I-75 northbound on Friday, June 5 at 10 p.m. through Friday, September 30 at 5 a.m. Crews will be performing a bridge demolition.
    • Detour: Arbor Blvd. to Dryden Road to Edwin C. Moses Blvd.
  • Interstate 75 Lighting Maintenance – Expect left lane closures on I-75 northbound, between Leo Street and the I-75/I-70 Interchange, on Tuesday, September 13 through Thursday, September 15, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Crews will be repairing highway lighting in the area.
  • Interstate 75 Ramp Closure – the I-75 northbound and southbound ramps to U.S. 35 eastbound will close on Monday, September 12 through Tuesday, September 13, from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Crews will be performing pavement grinding. The detour will be posted in the work zone.
    • Detour: U.S. 35 WB to James H. McGee Blvd. to U.S. 35 EB
  • Interstate 75 Drainage Operation – Expect 24-hour right shoulder closures on I-75 southbound between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and E. Central Avenue/S. Dixie Dr. on Tuesday, September 6 through Wednesday, October 12. Crews will be performing pavement grinding. The detour will be posted in the work zone.
