The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that beginning early morning, Tuesday, December 19, a new ramp at Exit 246 will open to traffic from southbound I-75 to westbound Big Bend Road, weather permitting.
Once open, the new southbound I-75 exit ramp will provide access to both eastbound and westbound Big Bend Road from Exit 246.
Motorists should use extra caution while traveling through the work zone as drivers get accustomed to the new traffic pattern approaching this interchange.
The $81.7 million project is reconstructing the I-75 interchange at Big Bend Road (CR 672), widening Big Bend Road between Covington Garden Drive and Simmons Loop, and rebuilding the bridges over Old Big Bend Road and Big Bend Road. This project is expected to finish in the summer of 2025.
