As the next phase of the Interstate 75/Thru the Valley mega project gets under way, various lane and ramp restrictions will be in effect this week while contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation place portable concrete barrier and shift traffic lanes of I-75.
Beginning at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30, the right lane of I-75 South will be closed from just south of I-275 to just north of Glendale-Milford Road until 6:00 a.m. Friday, October 1. Then, on Friday, the right lane of I-75 North will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2.
In addition to these lane closures, the ramp from I-75 South to Sharon Road will be closed Saturday, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday, October 3, and the northbound I-75 ramp to Sharon Road will be closed from 10:00 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, October 4. Detours will be posted during periods of ramp closures.
Phase 8 of the I-75 Thru the Valley project is one of seven phases and the second phase within the corridor to widen and reconstruct I-75 from S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway to just south of I-275. The project consists of reconstruction of I-75 from Glendale-Milford Road to the Kemper Road overpass, adding a fourth lane in each direction and adding capacity at the Sharon Road interchange and at Sharon Road and Chester Road.
Sunesis Construction Company was awarded the $45 million project, and all work is scheduled to be complete in late spring 2025.
