Overnight Lane Closures on Georgia’s I-75 in Clayton County This Weekend

Work crews for the Georgia Department of Transportation will install overnight lane closures in proximity of the I-75/I-285 interchanges and pace traffic on the I-75/I-285 interchange ramps in Clayton County this weekend. This work is in conjunction with construction of the new CD lane system which will be built adjacent to the existing I-75 northbound lanes between SR 331/Forest Parkway and I-285.

Weather permitting, these are the scheduled lane closures and traffic pacing operations:

  • On Friday, January 29 from 9:00 p.m., until 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, two left lanes will be closed on I-75 northbound and southbound between Old Dixie Highway and I-285:
  • Daytime single lane and shoulder lane closures will be installed on the I-285 westbound ramp to I-75 northbound and the I-75 northbound ramp to I-285 westbound on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
  • Traffic will be paced to from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30 and until 5:00 a.m. on Monday on the I-285 westbound and eastbound ramps to I-75 northbound and southbound for safety as ramp lanes and shoulders narrow.
  • On Sunday, January 31 from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, two left lanes will be closed on I-75 northbound and southbound between Old Dixie Highway and I-285.

Drivers will be alerted of the upcoming traffic impacts by message boards and barricades in advance of approaching the area. As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone.
