Ramp Closing, Detour Required for I-75 Work in Florida Beginning Monday

The Florida Department of Transportation reports that the southbound I-75 ramp (Exit 246) to Big Bend Road is closing between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights (September 28 and 29), weather permitting.

During each closure, motorists will be detoured around the work zone using Gibsonton Drive (Exit 250), continue west on Gibsonton Drive, south on US 41 to eastbound Big Bend Road.

Detour Route: Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour route. Motorists may anticipate heavier than normal volumes of traffic on nearby roads during these detours.

This closure is part of the $20.1 million repaving project on I-75 between the Manatee County Line and Big Bend Road in Hillsborough County.
