The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) advises motorists of a series of 15 minute closures on a portion of I-75 northbound and southbound in Grant County on Sunday, December 8.
The highway will be closed for approximately 15 minute intervals between mile points 161.92 and 161.97, a distance of 0.05 miles. These closures will be spaced at least 25 minutes apart to allow traffic to recover before beginning another closure. These temporary closures are necessary for the removal of old Duke Energy power lines, and the installation of new lines over the highway.
These 15 minute closures will take place periodically between 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and 5:00 a.m.
Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route to avoid potential delays during these hours. Signage is in place to warn motorists of the upcoming temporary closures.
Weather permitting, this utility work is expected to be completed Sunday, December 8 at 5:00 a.m.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
