Travel Alerts for I-75 Construction in Tennessee This Week

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction and maintenance operations this week.

  • HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 North Exit 1 interchange reconfiguration project at mile marker 1: Work on this project continues. There is now only one exit ramp that allows drivers to turn both east and west on Ringgold Road at a signalized intersection. Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed portion of Camp Jordan Pkwy., and the intersection (I-75 NB off-ramp and SR-8/Camp Jordan Pkwy.) is now controlled by a traffic signal. Estimated project completion date is September 2018.

  • MCMINN COUNTY I-75 resurfacing from south of SR-30 (MM 48.69/LM 13.75) to north of County Road 267 (MM 55.44/LM 20.50): There will be lane closures at night from 7 PM-6 AM Sunday- Thursday night as the contractor works on paving the roadway on I-75 in the Northbound lanes first then moving to the Southbound lanes. There will be State Troopers out on the project during working hours. The speed limit has been changed from 70 MPH to 60 MPH in the project limits. Estimated project completion date is September 2018.
  • CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 South at the Kentucky/Tennessee State Line: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures nightly between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this project. Motorists should be alert and use caution as crews construct Welcome Center exit ramp. Motorists should be alert for possible slowed traffic, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.
  • CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 South near Mile Marker 145.5: On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, motorists should be alert for possible lane closures between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews perform bridge repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present, slow traffic, and use extreme caution through this area.
  • CAMPBELL COUNTY, I-75 North and South between Mile Markers 135 and 142: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning through this project. Motorists should be alert for lane shifts, narrowed lanes, closed shoulders and use caution as crews construct truck climbing lanes through this area. Motorists should be alert for slowed or stopped traffic, expect potential delays and use extreme caution through this area.
  • KNOX COUNTY, I-75 South Ramp to Callahan Drive (Exit 110): Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures on this exit ramp as crews complete final items on this ramp widening and signalization project. Motorists should be alert for narrowed lanes, new traffic patterns; workers present and use extreme caution in this area.
